Wheel of the World

ok.

im making a new years resolution...2 weeks late. to update at least twice a week.

they probably wont be very fun...haha. all i do nowadays is fill out crappy government forms so i can live in belguim and the netherlands for 2 years. and that sure is fun...

not.

so, im really obsessed with american idol, especially the ones that even i feel awkward for them...oh, but what fun it is! and just the whole music competition, is just so, fun to watch! lemme expand on my feelings.

so, as many of you know, last year, me and my daddio went down to california, (much to lakes displeasure) and i auditioned for this reality tv show called "high school musical: get in the picture". it was some good times. waiting in endless lines in blistering heat with a whole bunch of teens. what fun! so we drove for like....12 hours straight from SLC! it was some good times, and we arrived at our destination at like...5am. we were about in the halfway point in the line. so this competition was kinda vague on what it was all about, what we did know though was that the winner was going to become the next member of the "HSM" family. but it would be some sort of singing/dancing competition. so, i like to think i can sing, and if i was terrible my dad sure wouldnt have drivin 12 hours to take me there...haha, im not the best but im not tone def for sure. but, as many, many of you know, i am 100% white boy, i cannot dance, even the amazing mr. mcclellan said i was his hardest subject to teach to dance when i was Ryan in HSM(i have some vids on facebook and youtube if you wanna see my "dancing"). so, that would be an adventure. so back to the story. we got in line, and there was another guy my age right next to me in line, named Jacob Haren. and oh my, we became fast friends. it would have sucked being in those lines without him! we talked and sang and just had a good time! ( OH MY GOSH JACOB! ITS NICK LACHEY!!) hahahah, oh man good times! so when it finnaly got to audition time, we sang to some girl (there were all sorts of these "booths" with people in them that you sang at and auditioned. so got to my station and sang some songs, and so did the other 2 that were in my little group. one guy got through, and me and the other girl did not. i guess i just wasnt what they were lookin for!! its a thing that you can be good, but if you dont fit a profile you are a no-go. and thats how american idol kinda all plays into this.

i have heard alot of people talk about the process, where there are some who have incredible voices, and will be turned down just so some horrible person can be on the show instead. so, not only do you have to be good, its also just a load of luck! no ill feelings about not makin it! jacob made it through the first 3 rounds i think...oh, and he also played ryan in HSM on stage, so pretty much we are the coolest. haha.

i was sad i didnt audition for american idol when they came to slc, i mean, i could have walked to the auditions...but i just...didnt. and i have my mission coming up so maybe in 2..or 3 years!!

speakin of my mission, ok. so i havent blogged since i got it...wow.

im bad at blogging.

so, if you didnt know, i got my mission call to the Belgium Brussels/Netherlands Mission Dutch speaking!! so now im just working on getting my visa so i can live there...haha. i leave for the MTC (missionary training center) April 22, go into the field june 23rd, and come home April 27 2011. so i will be gone for 2 years and 5 days. or 735 days.

for those who arent LDS(mormon) or familiar with them, a mission is where i will act as a representative of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and i will go out and preach the restored gospel as we belive, and i will do this for 2 years. you are always with your companion, another missionary, and it is just an awesome thing! any questions just ask!

so i am super pumped for that. and im really excited to learn dutch. it is such a knarly language! i hope i can get it down!

right now, im listening to Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift. what a GREAT combo! man i would marry any of them witout hesitation...mostly taylor, shes my age. and so attractive! man, i cant handle how attractive she is...

i got skype. so skype me. brady.macarthur

so in the next little while, i am going to go to cali (for real this time) and visit jacob, and alec. so if your in, lemme know. we should do it soon, while gas is cheap!

so, i am here for 3 more months here. if anyone wants to hook me up on a date or 2, lemme know! haha (i know jacob does...!!haha)

i got a new electric razor to shave my peach fuzz. i am very excited about this.

man, my blog is more lame then...not exciting things...haha, i tried to come up with something clever, and it failed. as you well know.

i lost the game.

whipped cream(dont ask)

so now i will leave you with this.

Oktober overvalt ons ieder jaar
We kijken naar elkaar, naar een overvolle zomer
En we zijn alweer veranderd
Maar het voelt niet meer vertrouwd
Nu we plotseling beseffen dat wij onszelf niet zijn
In oktober
Oktober is de wreedste maand oktober
Met de dingen die voorbij gaan maar wel ergens blijven hangen
Ze komen steeds weer bij ons terug
Ergens in oktober
Oktober overvalt ons ieder jaar
We blijven bij elkaar na een veel te korte zomer
En we zijn alweer veranderd, niet ten goede of ten kwade
Maar veranderd niettemin
In oktober
Oktober is de wreedste maand oktober
Met de dingen die voorbij gaan maar wel ergens blijven hangen
Ze komen steeds weer bij ons terug
En meestal in oktober
Meestal in oktober

lyrics to the song "Oktober" by the band BLØF

until next time!
